Digital Signatures in Office/SharePoint using a Tablet PC (Video Demo)

imageThis week I watched a webinar by SharePoint MVP Laura Rogers on approval processes in SharePoint. One of her demonstrations showed how digital signatures could be used in Word documents as part of the approval process.

Out-of-the-box, a digital signature

let’s the user type in their name on the signature line, and as Laura explained, gives an “old-school” approval feel to your document that some users may like.

As a tablet PC evangelist, my first thought was “tUntitled picturehis would be even more kool if they signed the doc with a tablet PC!”  As you may know, Office is natively able to work with digital ink, and for tablet users, you’ll see Office products display an Ink-related “Pens” ribbon whenever the opportunity arises.

So I thought I’d do a quick-n-dirty video demo to show what this signature process might look like for a SharePoint user with a tablet PC, using my Win7 HP Slate 500Check it out.
